Access to rehabilitation treatments under agreement with the Regional Health Service
How to access
Placement on the waiting list
Requests for access under agreement with the Regional Health Service (former Art. 26 of Law 833/78) are placed on a waiting list, according to the scoring criteria set out in the specific management procedure, available here.
To be placed on the waiting list, the family sends an email to [email protected] including:
-
date of birth and municipality of residence of the child/adolescent;
-
telephone contact of one parent;
-
copy of the ASL referral with diagnosis and request for admission to Centro Argos under Art. 26, or “specialist medical report for the specific disability (child neuropsychiatry), issued at the request of the general practitioner or the child’s chosen paediatrician, indicating the issues to be assessed” (DPCM no. 319/2015).
At the first appointment, the Administration Office will ask the family to:
-
complete and sign an access request, signed by both parents or by those holding parental responsibility;
-
read and sign the privacy information notice and consent to the processing of personal data;
-
if necessary, sign a self-certification authorising signature on behalf of the other parent;
-
provide a copy of the identity document and tax code or health card of the child/adolescent and of both parents or legal guardians;
-
present the original ASL referral, or the specialist medical report for the specific disability (child neuropsychiatry), issued at the request of the general practitioner or the child’s chosen paediatrician, indicating the issues to be assessed (DPCM no. 319/2015).
The initial assessment
The initial assessment includes a first visit with the child neuropsychiatrist, who opens the rehabilitation file, collects the medical history, evaluates the documentation, carries out the clinical examination, and defines the subsequent assessment appointments with the rehabilitation therapists.
Before the initial assessment, the Administration Office will ask the family to:
-
provide a copy of any previous medical and rehabilitation documentation;
-
sign a self-certification stating that the child/adolescent is not currently undergoing rehabilitation programmes at other public or accredited facilities.
At the end of the first visit, the subsequent assessment appointments with the therapists are scheduled.
The Individual Rehabilitation Plan (PRI)
The Individual Rehabilitation Plan (IRP) is drawn up by the rehabilitation team following the assessment appointments and defines both the rehabilitation and educational goals and the type and intensity level of the interventions.
The child neuropsychiatrist shares the contents of the plan with the family, providing the necessary explanations and requesting its signature for acceptance, together with the informed consent to treatment.
The Administration Office communicates the days and times of the weekly appointments and remains available for any needs, including issuing attendance certificates for school and certificates for the accompaniment of the child/adolescent to Centro Argos.
